[UPDATE] Wish a speedy recovery to Mateo, one of our 2016 Surgery Fund Recipients!

Mateo Surgery Update

Join us in wishing Mateo congratulations and a smooth recovery!

Earlier this year, Point 5cc donated $2,300 to Mateo Diaz for a gender-confirming surgery! (Mateo was one of 637 applicants and 5 finalists to the 2016 Point 5cc Surgery Fund.)

Point5cc-Blog-MateoSurgeryUpdateMateo had his surgery earlier this week and we’re happy to say he’s doing great! You can show him support by leaving a comment below.

So what’s next for Mateo?

Mateo’s got some exciting things happening once he recovers from surgery.

He was just selected to compete for his university’s only male pageant this year, Mr. Burgundy and Grey, held by The Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Sorority, Inc. Mateo says he is the first known trans man competing for the event that dates back to 1975. All proceeds made during the event are divided between the sorority’s different philanthropic causes, and the winner of the pageant’s charity of choice. (Mateo picked next year’s Surgery Fund as the recipient — thanks, Mateo!)

You can check out the sorority’s promo below and admire his suit game. 🙂

It’s official! I’ll be competing for the title of Mr. Burgundy and Grey on Saturday March 26th! Dinner starts at 5pm,…
