Point 5cc Founder Aydian Dowling Honored at Feminist Power Awards

Point 5cc Founder and CEO Aydian Dowling was honored Monday, October 5 at the 2015 Feminist Power Awards in NYC. Other award recipients were Yoko Ono, First Lady Chirlane McCray, Vita C. Rabinowitz, and Jill Soloway!

Point5cc-FeministPressAward2The award ceremony, presented by the Feminist Press at the City University of New York, is an “annual tradition celebrates visionaries whose leadership advances human rights, dignity, and empowerment.”

They commended Aydian, writing in their release “We couldn’t be more proud to be celebrating trans rights activist and vlogger Aydian Dowling.”

“You may know Aydian from his YouTube channel, ALionsFears, or as cofounder of Point 5cc, a radical clothing company that established one of the first binder exchange programs and allows trans and allied people to show pride without being outed. He also made headlines this summer as a leading choice for The Ultimate Guy Search, a combination people’s choice and judged competition with the prize of being featured on the cover of Men’s Health. Aydian placed in the top 5, and our fingers are crossed that he’ll be awarded the cover he deserves!”

Point5cc-FeministPressAward3“We’re honoring Aydian for being a role model for youth across the US, for establishing a business that strives towards the common good, and most of all, for his honesty and selflessness in his journey to help others.”

The event also honored CUNY Provost Dr. Vita C. Rabinowitz, First Lady of NYC Chirlane McCray, Transparent creator and showrunner Jill Soloway, and artist Yoko Ono.
